Check out what's coming soon to WoW!

Warcraft news   (news you can edit!)

22nd July 2008 – Beta access for BlizzCon attendees, Blizz urges quick registration

For those who attended the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational in '07 or this year and were given a serial number, you've been entered into the beta test for WoW's second expansion. Check Strategy Informer for more information.

17th July 2008 – Achievements unveiled!

Have you ever wanted a tangible announcement for jumping off Teldrassil? Getting a haircut? Throwing someone off the cliff at the Lumber Mill in Arathi Basin? Now you can with the Achievement system in Wrath of the Lich King!

14th July 2008 – Blizzard stay autonomous in Activision merger, Sierra not so lucky

While Blizzard may have staved off a total buyout and secured their creative freedoms, the long-time Sierra label was less than fortunate. Some projects could face the chop. Sierra is no stranger to the PC or consoles but now if Activision doesn't feel a project meets their requirements then "they won't likely be retained". Check Strategy Informer for more information.

4th July 2008 – Opt-ins available for Wrath of the Lich King beta

Help, policies and guidelines

WoWWiki is a wiki dedicated to cataloguing Blizzard Entertainment's Warcraft Universe (with a focus, though not priority, on World of Warcraft), covering the entire Warcraft series of games, RPG reference books, strategy guides, novels and other sources. However, this is not Wikipedia, and we have slightly different ways of doing things.

For more info, check out About WoWWiki.

Wrath of the Lich King boxart
World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, colloquially known as WotLK, Wrath, or WLK, is the second World of Warcraft expansion, officially announced on the 3rd of August 2007 at BlizzCon. The majority of expansion content takes place in Northrend, and centers around the plans of the Lich King.

Content highlights include the increase of the level cap from 70 to 80, the introduction of the Death Knight Hero Class, the new Inscription profession, as well as new PvP and world PvP content. No additional playable races are planned, though many new NPC races will be featured.

No public beta has been announced; the game itself is planned for release in 2008.
