Giant eagles are large eagles that live on Azeroth and inside the Emerald Dream.^{S&L 145} These magnificent birds roam the wide plains of the human lands, feasting on the occasional horse or cow as their natural food supply diminishes. Many human animal trainers offer bounties on giant eagle chicks, hoping to train them as steeds or beasts of burden. Although no such "hatcheries" exist, there have been a few successful attempts — which only makes the trainers more eager to capture the young beasts. Giant eagles do not breed in captivity, so capturing the hatchlings is the only way to get these creatures for training.^{MoM 191} Some were trained as mounts by the blood elf Dragonhawk units of the island of Quel'Danas^{LoC 113}. They can be summoned by druids as nature's allies.^{WoWRPG 345}

Corrupted Giant Eagle

Corrupted giant eagles are giant eagles that have been mutated into Corrupted Ones by the Nightmare in the Emerald Dream.^{S&L 145}
