Things to do

So you want to help out? Great!: There's always loads of things to do on WoWWiki!; WoWWiki has a huge number of viewers, but a relatively low proportion of editors - everyone is valued :); Check out the list on the right for a small selection.; You can also browse the entire Things to do category!

What do we do?: WoWWiki is a wiki dedicated to cataloguing Blizzard Entertainment's Warcraft Universe (with a focus, though not priority, on World of Warcraft), covering the entire Warcraft series of games, RPG reference books, strategy guides, novels and other sources. However, this is not Wikipedia, and we have slightly different ways of doing things.; If you want to find out more about our history, visit WoWWiki:About.; This means everything we cover is related to Warcraft - anything offtopic will likely be deleted.

Remember: Stay on topic.; Avoid personal opinions in articles.; Respect the viewpoints of others when discussing changes.; Be careful what personal info you give out.

Vote!: Nominate and discuss featured articles!; Take a look at the votes in progress!

Expand!: Expand and categorise some stubs!; Fulfil some image requests!; Write a new article that's on the the wanted list!

Edit and fix!: Work on merge candidates!; Some pages need to be cleaned up.; Others just need to be wikified.; Link pages from Special:Lonelypages back into WoWWiki.; ... or categorizing some uncategorized pages?; Update out-of-date articles!; Fix some misspellings.; Check out Special:ProblemReports.

Projects and community teams

If you are looking for a way to help the wiki, one good way is to contribute your time to the projects being worked on by community teams. Note that some teams are currently rather inactive.

Joining a team is always a great way to help out!

Administrators: The admins administer the wiki!

Help Team (join): This community team helps people use the wiki.

Watchdogs (join): The Watchdogs are a WoWWiki patrol team.

Bookkeepers (join): The keepers of lore within WoWWiki, making sure it conforms to the material in the Warcraft world.

Article Council (join): The Article Council ensures consistency of information and styling across all pages.

Template Engineers (join): The Template Engineers focus on creating templates needed for WoWWiki and adding documentation for all Templates.

Mini projects

Convert all appropriate tables to "darktable" - see WW:MOS#Tables for guidelines.
Fix article message boxes - see WW:MOS#Article message boxes for guidelines.
Clean up the Newbie guides - especially formatting, naming and combined format.

Featured article

Alterac Valley is a battleground in the continuing war between the Horde and the Alliance. The two opposing sides are the Frostwolf Clan (led by Drek'Thar) and the Stormpike Guard (also known as the Stormpike Expedition, led by Vanndar Stormpike), both of whom lay claim to this secluded territory.

Long ago, before the First War, the warlock Gul'dan exiled a clan of orcs called the Frostwolf Clan (led by Durotan, father of Thrall) to a hidden valley deep in the heart of the Alterac Mountains for refusing to drink the blood of Mannoroth. It is here in the valley's southern reaches that the Frostwolves eked out a living until the rise of Thrall's new Horde.

25th August 2008 – The WoWlympics have ended - who will win WotLK beta keys?

17th June 2008 – Monaco 3.1 has gone live!

This is the new default skin for most Wikia wikis decribed in Wikia's New Style. If you see any bugs, please report them at the Village pump.

Which is your favourite aspect of the Warcraft universe?
Out of about 6500 votes, the overwhelming winner here was lore on 41%, followed by raid gameplay on 21%! Theorycrafting, perhaps unsurprisingly, only garnered 2%. (See poll)

Which Burning Crusade patch did you enjoy most?
From about 5000 votes, 60% said they enjoyed patch 2.4 the most! Patch 2.2, the voice chat patch, was only most popular with 2% of respondents. (See poll)
